ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

On May 19, thyroid cancer survivors and their families are invited to attend a one-day workshop at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc, and the American Cancer Society, New England Division, the workshop is
FREE and open to thyroid cancer survivors and their families.

The presenters in the morning are Gregory Randolph, M.D., FACE, Director of General Otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
and Arturo Rolla, M.D., an endocrinologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a founding member of ThyCa’s Medical
Advisory Council.

The afternoon program includes a Survivors’ Panel and a presentation by the New England Coalition for Cancer Survivorship called How To Support
a Cancer Survivor. Throughout the day, portraits by photographer Gretje Ferguson will be on exhibit. This show is part of Ms. Ferguson’s larger
exhibit called Confronting Cancer: Images of Strength and Hope, which is currently touring New England.

Michigan’s first support group for thyroid cancer survivors has begun meeting in Plymouth on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The next meeting
will be April 24. Organized by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc., ThyCa SE Michigan is free and open to all thyroid cancer
survivors and their families. ThyCa SE Michigan meets from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Gold Room at the

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer organization providing services and resources to thyroid cancer survivors
and their families. Organized following the world’s first annual conference for thyroid cancer survivors held in Massachusetts in October 1998, a national steering committee incorporated the association in March 1999.

ThyCa’s web site was designed by its web manager, Betty Solbjor of Waltham, MA, who is a thyca survivor and founding member of the ThyCa

thyca survivors in the world.
