ThyCa Moves its 2020 Annual Conference to a Virtual Meeting Due to COVID-19
ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. (ThyCa) is moving its 23rd Annual International Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Conference on October 23-25 to a virtual format due to COVID-19. The virtual meeting will feature educational and support sessions on treatment and research regarding thyroid cancer care.
“Canceling the in-person meeting was an incredibly difficult and disappointing decision to make,” said Gary Bloom, ThyCa Executive Director. “However, many of our conference attendees are immunocompromised. It’s our obligation to safeguard our members from exposure to COVID-19.”
“We’re working on technology that will help us share parts of what we had planned for the in-person conference. We will have more to announce at a future time. We will greatly miss seeing each other and look forward to future meetings when the COVID-19 situation will hopefully be improved,” Bloom added.
For further information or questions regarding the conference, please email conference@thyca.org.
Because ThyCa’s first priority is everyone’s health, safety, and well-being, we suggest that you follow the precautions recommended by your local health agencies and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
