Denise Rivera

Denise joined the ThyCa Board in 2019 and is an 18-year survivor of thyroid cancer.  Throughout her cancer journey, Denise had found that education, support, and fundraising for research are key ingredients in the fight against cancer.  This experience led Denise to become a volunteer for ThyCa as a co-facilitator for the Denver ThyCa Support Group and committee member for ThyCa’s Annual conference. A native Denverite with over 30 years of IT experience, Denise is a graduate of Regis College where she earned, cum laude, B.S. degrees in Computer Information Systems, Professional Accounting, and Business Administration-Management.   For over 25 years, Denise has been a volunteer and fundraiser for numerous conservation organizations and children’s cancer non-profits.  In her free time, Denise enjoys needle craft work, reading, fly fishing, the shooting sports, hunting, snowshoeing, and hiking.
